Short answer
On its own, ChatGPT can write a quote from numbers you type in. Connected to Fieldproxy through MCP, ChatGPT, Claude or Copilot generate estimates and documents from your own templates and rates, preview and issue proposals, list quotes that need a follow-up and mark stale ones lost. Issuing is a proposal you confirm first.

How it works
The assistant uses generate_estimate with your estimate templates, preview_proposal and issue_proposal with your proposal templates, generate_document for PDFs, and quotes_to_follow_up to find open quotes.
Anything that changes data or sends a message is shown to you first and happens only after you confirm; writes can be undone, and every call is logged.
Why templates matter
A quote typed into a chat window has no price book behind it. Generating from templates keeps your line items, rates and terms consistent, and the result lives on the job rather than in a chat log.
