The Calling Agent integrates with our full AI suite
The honest question about letting AI talk to your customers on the phone. These are the actual mechanisms, with their real defaults, not reassurance.
The agent has to read the change back before committing it. For anything high-stakes, a cancellation or a payment, a spoken "yes" is not enough: the caller has to press the confirmation key after the change is staged. Every attempt, whether it committed or was refused, is written to that call's audit, so you can prove nothing went through unconfirmed.
When a call escalates, the agent speaks a one-line brief to whoever picks up, who is calling and why, before bridging the customer in. Your person starts the conversation already knowing what it is about.
On outbound, answering-machine detection leaves your message after the beep and ends the call without ever starting a conversation. And when it genuinely cannot tell, it assumes a human, because hanging up on a real customer is far worse than a few seconds spent talking to a machine.
Card numbers and social security numbers are masked in the transcript before it is stored, so the raw digits are never written down. Recording is off until you turn it on, you choose whether to announce it or require the caller to opt in, and declining keeps the call going un-recorded. Audio is never handed out by URL: it plays only through an authenticated, tenant-scoped route.
Every call has a hard maximum length, so a looping or abandoned call hangs up instead of running. On top of that you can set a monthly ceiling: cross it and the phone channel suspends itself and notifies your managers, rather than quietly spending the rest of your AI budget. Resuming is a deliberate action, not something that happens because someone nudged the limit up.
AI and humans, same job
The agent takes the calls nobody got to: the after-hours enquiry, the fifth reschedule, the no-show chase. Your people take the ones that need a person. Neither is doing the other's work.
Most teams adopt one agent first, then layer in two or three more in the same week.
