Can you hand an AI agent a business goal, like getting a quote approved?

Yes. In Fieldproxy you hand Autopilot a goal, such as get an estimate approved or collect an invoice, pick the records and set limits on messages, channels, discounts and deadline. It drafts each follow-up for your OK, checks the records, and closes the goal when it is reached.

This walkthrough shows Autopilot goals at Summit Home Services, a demo HVAC, plumbing and electrical company: setting up a goal on an open AC quote, a goal that is running with its third drafted follow-up, and a goal that closed with the install booked.

Step by step

  1. Open Autopilot

See the goals it is working, the drafts waiting for your OK and the jobs it booked.

  2. Pick a goal

Click New goal and choose what you want done: get an estimate approved, collect an invoice, fill an open slot, rebook a canceled visit and more. Each shows how many records are ready.

  3. Choose what it works on

Select the estimate, invoice or customer. Several goals for one customer are coordinated into one message.

  4. Set the limits

Deadline, messages at most, channels, discount allowed (over 10% needs approval) and auto-send, which is off so every message is a draft for your OK.

  5. Approve the drafts

The goal card shows the next step and the drafted message. Nothing is sent until a person approves it.

  6. Goal reached

When the records show the goal is met, it closes; for an approved estimate the install is booked as a new job.

Questions people ask

What is an AI agent for a service business?
Software that works toward a goal you give it, such as getting a quote approved or an invoice paid, by deciding and drafting the next follow-up and checking the records to see when the goal is reached.
Will the AI message my customers without asking?
Not by default. Auto-send is off, so every message is a draft that waits for a person's OK. Quiet hours, a weekly message cap and one message per channel a day also apply.
Can it offer discounts?
Only within the limit you set for the goal: no discounts, up to 5% or up to 10%. Anything over 10% needs approval.
What happens when the customer says yes?
The goal closes itself. In this example the customer approved her AC option and the install was booked as a new job with a technician and time.
What goals can I hand it?
On this system: get an estimate approved, collect an invoice or project deposit, get a review, renew or sell a care plan, renew a service agreement, get a visit booked, fill an open slot, rebook a canceled visit, book due maintenance and unblock a project.
Is Summit Home Services a real company?

  3. 0:18Every service business has money stuck in open quotes and unpaid invoices, because the follow-up is the job nobody has time for. Autopilot is where you hand that work off: goals it is working, drafts waiting for your OK, and jobs it booked.
  4. 0:36Click New goal, and you choose what you want done, not how.
  5. 0:41Get an estimate approved. Collect an invoice. Fill an open slot.
  6. 0:47Rebook a canceled visit.
  7. 0:50Each goal shows how many records are ready for it right now, like fifty-nine open estimates. Tick one, or several for the same customer, and they're coordinated, so the customer gets one message, not three.
  8. 1:03Next, what it works on. Here, John Baker's air conditioning quote: three options, from nine thousand seven hundred to almost eighteen thousand dollars, still waiting on a decision.
  9. 1:15Then the fence it works inside. A deadline. How many messages at most, which channels, and any discount it may offer, with anything over ten percent needing approval. Auto-send is off, so every message is a draft for your OK, and nothing goes out during quiet hours.
  10. 1:32Before you start, it shows its likely first step: a text that recaps the options and asks which one works, as a draft.
  11. 1:41Here's one already running. Get Linda Spencer to approve one of her replacement options.
  12. 1:47It's on message three of three, eight days before the deadline, and the next step is yours: an OK on the draft.
  13. 1:55And the draft reads like someone who knows the customer. She's comparing quotes, so it lays out all three options again, mentions financing, and points to her technician's latest five-star review. No pressure, and nothing sends until a person approves it.
  14. 2:12And when a goal is reached, it closes itself. Gloria Elliott approved her air conditioning option, and the install was booked as a new job, with a technician and a time.
  15. 2:24You set the goal and the limits; it does the chasing, and you approve what goes out.
