The challenge
The client wanted one answer each week: were all the ATMs cleaned, with proof? Their first app could not show a cleaner had actually been at the machine, and jobs could be closed without photos.
What we built
A cleaner's app that only starts and finishes a job at the machine, with stamped before-and-after photos, a weekly cycle that runs itself, office reports, and a read-only dashboard for the bank.
The results
- 119 ATMs with before-and-after photos every week
- A working system with their real machines the day of the first call
- Their client checks the proof itself, in its own dashboard
- Every change they asked for done the same day
One question, every week
Tanzifco is one of the region's long-established cleaning companies, serving banks, ministries, malls, airports and industrial sites since 1963. One of its contracts is the weekly cleaning of a bank's ATM network: 119 machines, every one cleaned every week.
What the bank wanted to know was simple. Were all the machines cleaned this week, and where is the proof? The app Tanzifco used first could not answer it. It could not show that a cleaner had actually been at the machine, and a job could be marked complete without a single photo.
“We worked with Fieldproxy on an ATM cleaning project after trying another application that didn't meet our needs. The difference was clear: their team understood our requirements and delivered exactly what we were looking for.”
What we built: proof the client can see for itself
Mohamed sent a detailed requirements email and his ATM workbook after the first call. That same day, a working system was running with all 119 of his real machines loaded.
A cleaner's app with one job
This week's machines in three tabs: scheduled, completed and issues. Search by ATM number, sort by nearest, and get directions.
Start and finish at the machine
A job can only be started and completed within a set distance of the ATM. A start attempted from too far away is refused and recorded.
Stamped photo proof
Two before and two after photos, each stamped with the ATM number, date, time and location. A job cannot close until both sets are in.
Machine not available
If an ATM can't be reached, the cleaner taps a reason and takes one photo. No typing, because the brief was clear: the cleaners should not have to write.
A week that runs itself
Every machine goes back on the list each Sunday. Weekly and monthly reports go out on schedule, and reminders flag machines still due.
The bank's own dashboard
A read-only view with a week-by-week tick grid, a map of the week, and every ATM's visit times, photos and location, in Tanzifco's own branding.
“Every one of the 119 ATMs we look after gets before-and-after photos every week, and our client can see them for itself. The proof is in the system, not in someone's gallery.”
Every change, the same day
Mohamed tested the system overnight with a real cleaner and came back with five changes. All five were done the next morning, and Tanzifco went ahead that day. The first live cleans came in on the morning after.
The requests kept coming as the team and the bank used it, and each round was delivered the day it arrived. An 8-point email brought a nearest-first default, a zone filter, a way for a cleaner to release a job started by mistake, and office-only notes. A 13-point email a few days later brought week filters on the dashboards, the weekly report with photos going to the bank, a messages centre between Tanzifco and its client, an administrator level, zoomable photos, and a phone app for the office and the client to review past weeks.
“What stood out most was their speed, both in getting things done and responding to us. We didn't have to keep repeating or explaining our requirements; they understood and acted on them quickly.”
The client stopped asking
By Saturday, the office checks that nothing is left on the scheduled list, and the dashboard tells them whether the week is fully accounted for. The bank no longer has to ask whether an ATM was cleaned. It can look, and it can leave a note on any machine for Tanzifco to answer.
“Our client has its own dashboard now. They don't have to ask us whether an ATM was cleaned. They can just look.”
How it went
Day 1
First call. Mohamed sent his requirements and ATM list, and the same day a working system was built with all 119 real machines loaded.
Day 1 to 2
He tested it overnight with a real cleaner, raised five changes on the second call, and all five were done that morning. Tanzifco went ahead the same day.
Day 3
First live working morning: cleaners completed their first real cleans with photos and location checks.
Weeks 1 to 2
Two more rounds of requests, of 8 and 13 changes, each delivered the same day it came in.
“The whole experience was straightforward and stress-free, and our client was genuinely impressed with the results. We highly recommend Fieldproxy to anyone looking for a responsive team that listens and delivers.”
